Kelli Finger

elli Finger is a freelance journalist, grant writer, and nonprofit consultant based in Michigan. Her work focuses on accessibility, community issues, social services, lifestyle, food, entertainment, and the everyday systems that shape people’s lives. She has written for outlets including the Detroit Metro Times, Next Avenue, Mental Floss, the Disabled Journalists Association, and Apartment Therapy. With an MSW from Wayne State University and extensive grant-writing training, Kelli brings a human-centered, research-informed approach to both journalism and nonprofit storytelling. She helps organizations strengthen grant narratives, identify funding opportunities, and communicate their impact with clarity and compassion. As a blind writer and advocate, Kelli is especially interested in disability access, equity, aging, caregiving, and stories that reveal how policy decisions affect real people. Her work blends curiosity, empathy, and practical insight to make complex issues more accessible.
