Stripped reproductive rights. Denied care in ICE custody. Rampant malpractice in handling the bodies of our most vulnerable. In today’s America, the stakes of possessing a stigmatized body are life, death, or — if this year’s smash hit Obsession is any indication — some horrifying liminal third space.
Body horror has long been a lens through which to examine the affliction of our mortality and inflictions of our society. It feels especially ripe this year, in GraveSite’s infancy, as we grow our body of work on death from nothing.
This Halloween, we’re proud to bring you a corpus on the human corpse. Head over to our dedicated Halloweek Hub every day this week for new drops, including:
A ‘Bring Your Body Double’ flash sale — get two memberships for the price of one through Wednesday, October 28 (details here!)
Our first interactive data feature on who pays the price for Hollywood’s biggest body counts
Our freshest dirt on what to do with a dead body
Spooky szn recs from genre connoisseurs
We’ll drop you another couple emails throughout the week, too, so you stay in the loop on the latest.
